What a great time today! I had expected something along the line of a defensive driving type thing when I rolled up to Central Texas Gun Works this morning to take my Concealed Handgun License class. Instead I got a very interesting, highly informative and entertaining day of instruction from Michael Cargill and Jeremy Parsons, breakfast tacos AND pizza, and some of the most fun I've had in weeks once we got out to the range for the shooting test! As you'll see above, I scored a 236 out of possible 250 and only missed the target twice, which I think is pretty good, though there were people in the class who clearly have had a lot more shooting time than I have. All that said, I know from what I learned in the class that this license is serious business, and I'd recommend the class for anyone who's interested in self or home defense. Wish I had done this years ago, but the fact is, as of last fall the CHL is easier than ever to get. Look forward to taking more instruction classes at Central Texas Gun Works too!
Chris Mosser takes the KVET reins every weekday afternoon from 3pm to 7pm! Chris was born and raised in Lubbock, and got his radio start there at KRLB "FM-99" and later at the legendary Hub City rock station, 94.5 FMX. Chris was also playing bass guitar for a heavy metal band called Human at that time, and relocated with the band to Austin in 1993. He has been a staple of the Austin radio and live music scene ever since, and is thus in hog heaven. Chris has arguably played more Austin and Texas music on Austin's radio waves than any other radio dude in town!
When he's not sleeping or yapping on the radio, Chris enjoys spending time with his beautiful family, exploring Austin's restaurants, movie theaters and live music venues, building stuff (badly), experimenting with new and exotic cocktail recipes, cooking competition-grade Texas chili and setting things on fire in his backyard.
