Chris Mosser takes the KVET reins every weekday afternoon from 3pm to 7pm! Chris was born and raised in Lubbock, and got his radio start there at KRLB "FM-99" and later at the legendary Hub City rock station, 94.5 FMX. Chris was also playing bass guitar for a heavy metal band called Human at that time, and relocated with the band to Austin in 1993. He has been a staple of the Austin radio and live music scene ever since, and is thus in hog heaven. Chris has arguably played more Austin and Texas music on Austin's radio waves than any other radio dude in town!
When he's not sleeping or yapping on the radio, Chris enjoys spending time with his beautiful family, exploring Austin's restaurants, movie theaters and live music venues, building stuff (badly), experimenting with new and exotic cocktail recipes, cooking competition-grade Texas chili and setting things on fire in his backyard.

I occasionally get little gifts from artists, it's very common at this time of year, but April and Amy Rankin went above and beyond this Christmas, big time - they gave me a GUN!
I'm sure my 9-year-old son will put this thing to great use driving me nuts over the holidays. Thanks ladies and Merry Christmas!
If KVET listeners donate at least $1,000 to our Christmas With Santa drive for Dell Children's Hospital by the end of my show at 7pm tonight, all of the donors will be eligible to win a pair of George Strait concert tickets! Click HERE to donate, THANKS and Good Luck!

Gross-out time - very gnarly pictures of an injury suffered by Canadian hockey player Sebastien Courcelles are circulating - he took a skate to the face, and those skates are apparently very, very sharp. Why would you want to see such a thing, you ask? Well, I'm not sure why, but you know you do. So steel yourself, get ready for blood, and click HERE.
Pretty scary - the new trend in Latin American drug cartel black market activity is centered around smartphones. As dealing in drugs has gotten more problematic with increased govermental crackdowns, cartels have started dealing in stolen phones - some stolen from American citizens on American streets! Four of the six high school football teams in the listening area who played in quarterfinals games last weekend were eliminated - leaving only Lake Travis and La Grange in the Final Four of the 5A and 3A races, respectively. Both teams play for their shot at State this weekend - La Grange faces Carthage (East Texas) in the 3A game at Newsom Stadium in Mansfield on Friday night at 7:30, and Lake Travis plays Cedar Hill (DFW area) in the 5A semifinal at the soon-to-be-shuttered Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco on Saturday afternoon at 1:30. Git 'em boys!
Crazy video and sure a good thing nobody got killed - what must be TONS of ice came flying off the roof of a Dallas apartment complex today...check it out!
