Chris Mosser takes the KVET reins every weekday afternoon from 3pm to 7pm! Chris was born and raised in Lubbock, and got his radio start there at KRLB "FM-99" and later at the legendary Hub City rock station, 94.5 FMX. Chris was also playing bass guitar for a heavy metal band called Human at that time, and relocated with the band to Austin in 1993. He has been a staple of the Austin radio and live music scene ever since, and is thus in hog heaven. Chris has arguably played more Austin and Texas music on Austin's radio waves than any other radio dude in town!
When he's not sleeping or yapping on the radio, Chris enjoys spending time with his beautiful family, exploring Austin's restaurants, movie theaters and live music venues, building stuff (badly), experimenting with new and exotic cocktail recipes, cooking competition-grade Texas chili and setting things on fire in his backyard.
If you didn't see the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead on Sunday, I'll not spoil it for you here, other than to say that this is a show that is not afraid to kill off its primary (and often, best-loved) characters, and this episode proved that very convincingly.
Meanwhile, my wife has developed a pretty impressive impression of Rick and his intense, Southern-drawl delivery, showcased nicely in the video below.

Christopher Walken is the smoothest weirdo in the world and one of my all time favorite actors. A couple of guys had the experience of a lifetime recently when they saw Walken trying to hail a cab, pulled over and offered him a ride - and he accepted! So cool and so very, very Walken. Story HERE and be sure to watch the video at the link, it is pure uncut awesomeness.
We take our football mighty serious here in Texas, but it's rare in these parts to hear of a fan of a team killing another fan for being less than heartbroken over a big loss. A lady in Alabama decided to rid the Crimson Tide's fanbase of a person whose dedication to the team's honor she called into question after the big Auburn loss on Saturday. Story HERE.
Pretty weird. Starting when Hurricane Sandy blew into New York City about a year ago, witnesses have been reporting a strange "wailing" sound coming from the recently-completed One World Trade Center building, and someone finally captured this effect on video, which you can check out below. What do you think is causing this sound? More HERE.
Tonight at 7 on CMT, check out a special Artists Of The Year broadcast which will honor Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line (who were JUST in town!), Hunter Hayes, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean! Show will also feature appearances by Dierks Bentley, Alabama, Cassadee Pope and tons more. More HERE.
Jon Madani is the head man across the hall at AM 1300 The Zone, and is one of the first guys I seek out when I have a sports question above my pay grade, which is frequently. He tolerates me and I appreciate that. I never knew, though, that Jon was the victim of a grave injustice as a child - a psychic burden that, though it must have gnawed at him inside all these years, he bravely never allowed to get the better of him. I'm proud to report that - 40 years after the fact - that wrong has been righted, and this will be the most special Christmas ever as a result. Check out the story HERE.
Am I the only one who finds this a little freaky? Amazon.com announced yesterday that they are working on a drone-based delivery service, the operation of which is detailed in the video below and HERE. You know me, I'm a little paranoid about a Terminator scenario where it comes to drone technology, and it seems like this could be a problematic system if employed on a wide scale...what do you think?
Cool video recaps the recent "Final No-Show" for George Jones in Nashville, as folks like Garth Brooks, Dierks Bentley, Alan Jackson and tons more paid tribute to the Possum.
