Chris Mosser takes the KVET reins every weekday afternoon from 3pm to 7pm! Chris was born and raised in Lubbock, and got his radio start there at KRLB "FM-99" and later at the legendary Hub City rock station, 94.5 FMX. Chris was also playing bass guitar for a heavy metal band called Human at that time, and relocated with the band to Austin in 1993. He has been a staple of the Austin radio and live music scene ever since, and is thus in hog heaven. Chris has arguably played more Austin and Texas music on Austin's radio waves than any other radio dude in town!
When he's not sleeping or yapping on the radio, Chris enjoys spending time with his beautiful family, exploring Austin's restaurants, movie theaters and live music venues, building stuff (badly), experimenting with new and exotic cocktail recipes, cooking competition-grade Texas chili and setting things on fire in his backyard.
This week's Bud Light On The Ball is a little unusual. Witness below several different views of an overzealous field-invading fan getting blindside tackled by a burly Oklahoma state trooper at last weekend's game! More HERE.

Lots of cool JFK stuff is flying around as we approach the 50th anniversary of his death on Friday. First, a chilling letter was sent to the administration warning them not to send Kennedy to Dallas, find it HERE. And, equally chilling is a first-person account of the event from the youngest person I've seen one from - a man who was 6 years old at the time, and is now 56. Check that out HERE.
While we're at it, I hate to focus only on President Kennedy's death, so rewinding just a few months to June 11, 1963, here's what's considered one of his finest moments - a speech given to the nation on the evening after the confrontation at the University of Alabama between Alabama Governor George Wallace and national guardsmen who were present on the campus to enforce new integration laws and allow Alabama's first African-American students to register. Surprisingly, and sadly, these truths have not fully sunk in for some of us.

Brand new video for "When She Says Baby" - looks like a largely live shot - debuted this morning! More from The Boot HERE.
It's kind of ironic (and possibly somewhat telling) that the infamous 2012 "Palpation Situation" turned out to be one of the highlights of the year that Anne Hudson and I hosted mornings on KVET. As part of our efforts to promote Kevin Fowler's annual FFA and 4H fundraiser, we had Anne palpate a cow live on the air and on camera! The warnings in this video are not a joke, this is seriously gross stuff, but does show what our FFA kids have to go through to earn that blue jacket! The fundraiser for this year is happening on Saturday and you can find out more HERE.
Here's an interesting one - nature photographer has a close encounter with a young bull elk, who seems more curious or playful than really threatening. Comments at the bottom of the original page HERE have lots of potential optional actions the photographer might have taken. You hunter types have any ideas?
Okay, I'm not setting the bar for class here, but I can't hardly pass up a video of a race car careening through a giant puddle of possible, potential poop. You're welcome!
A monument to country music great George Jones was unveiled yesterday at Middle Tennessee State University, and his widow Nancy Jones helped announce a new scholarship at the school in his name as well. Story HERE and video below.

It's sure not the first time, but rumors of a split between Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have been circulating lately. Find out whether they're true or not HERE.
